Meet Lauwri & Tessa,

Lauwri De Pater and Tessa Persoons are Creative directors of LOBSTER, an Antwerp based creative direction and branding studio. Using a concept-driven approach, they create visual identities, graphic design, websites and art direction for the industries of lifestyle, culture, fashion and others.

“Being graphic designers with no real experience in business management we needed some help. Being overwhelmed with our to-do lists, we were struggling to plan ahead. We needed support with our time management, planning and internal organisation. Besides we were having trouble maintaining a steady flow of cash. ”
— Tessa Persoons, Creative Director at Lobster

The intention:

The purpose of our project was to optimise their workflow by changing the way they were working together, to reorganise their internal structure and to work smarter instead of harder. Furthermore, we focussed on redefining their sales processes. We created a better follow-up of their client projects to increase client satisfaction and cash flow.

The different steps:

1 - Sales Processes

First of all, we developed a clear overview of the sales process and the different steps from first client contact all the way up writing the invoice. By further developing the sales process and integrating some helpful sales techniques, we were able to speed up and improve their sales and make sure they are running a financially healthy business.

2 - Workflow

Together we had a look at what daily habits could increase their productivity and help them with keeping ahead of their workload. I introduced them into agile project management. They started with daily morning huddles and a more efficient way of planning the tasks ahead of them. Categorising tasks from urgent, less important, to bigger to do’s and increasing their productivity and decreasing their workload.

“We learned that structure is key. Creating small daily habits/routines proved to be really helpful in keeping track of the bigger picture and accelerating and facilitating the work process.”
— Lauwri De Pater, Creative Director at Lobster

3 - Project Management

I showed them how to make use of different tools to make it easier to work together and have a better overview. That’s why I introduced them to Trello. And taught them how to work with it in an efficient way that is adapted to their needs and work processes. This really helped them a lot in assigning tasks, redefining responsibilities and keeping an overview of what needs to be done. Which worked in a stimulating way instead of an overwhelming one.

Check out their projects! And feel free to ask about our collaboration:
